2. Down the Rabbit Hole
Alice, sitting on the grass, was beginning to get bored sitting there doing nothing ; once or twice she had glanced at the book her sister was reading,
But what! No pictures! No dialogues! How boring it was!
The heat of the day was making her sleepy, when suddenly...
A white rabbit with pink eyes passed by her. He pulled a watch from his pocket, looked at it, then started running faster, saying, “Oh, I'll be late!”
Driven by curiosity, she rushed after him across the field, where she saw him disappear into a hole.
Alice followed him in.
The hole went straight down, then suddenly plunged steeply, so that Alice felt as if she were falling down a well. She fell and fell, and fell! She landed softly on a bed of leaves at the bottom of the burrow, where she saw a multitude of doors, some large and some very small...
